Dyspraxia week

This week is dyspraxia week so i thought i'd write about my experience as a parent with a child with dyspraxia. Bug was born at 36 weeks so he was classified as a premature baby. He reached some off his milestones by the time he was 18 months but not all. Aswell as his medical problems which is another story he could talk, he pointe to everything got frustrated when he wanted something but no one could understand him. I knew something was up but all the medical professionals kept saying it was a problem at home i was accused off never talking to him bow apparently never spoke to him so apparently he wasn't learning speech that was a pile off rubbish we spoke to him all the time, i read them both stories before bed, bow was 3 so like now couldn't shut her up. This went on for awhile i was banging my head against a brick wall constantly my saviour came when he started nursery. All he could say was eugh eugh constantly for everything so the nursery teacher asked speech and language to come in for to assess him at the time they just said delayed speech and told us they would set a speech programme up for him at school weekly aswell as me working with him at home. Luckily we also got referred to inclusion support and that was a saviour i owe them so much they did loads. They sorted out makaton classes for me as they were teaching Steven it, they sorted out signs throughout the house for him and they sorted out a visual timetable for him. As his behaviour got worse they also supported me with him even when his worker saw him pick up a kids wooden chair and throw it at me it hurt like mad. With everyone working with him they worked out the diagnosis off developmental verbal dyspraxia they diagnosed him at 4 and a half he's just had his 9th birthday and talking loads he still sees his speech therapist often and has support aswell as working to a programme set out for him. He's coming on so well that even the speech therapist who saw him yesterday said he's amazed by how well he's come on.
He's had help from so many people but he's worked so hard to be we're he's at. He's got amazing friends who help him when he needs it and he has his family.

My 30th

Wow what can i say i actually enjoyed my birthday 1st time for everything. On the actual day BUG and BOW woke me up nice and early for breakfast, presents and balloons my mum had come in and decorated my downstairs balloons and banners inside and out announcing to the world how old i am i was so happy needless to say. There had been loads off debate on what i actually wanted to do to celebrate with out kiddies or without. I wanted a big party as personally it's been years. The last party i actually remember really wanting was for my 13th unfortunately my father and evil step mother decided we couldn't afford it also it was the 50th anniversary off VE DAY.
In the end though it was decided by my fantastic mum (fantastic for now anyway) that we should do something completely different and we did we went to a ladies day at Nottingham race course then round Nottingham for drinks. In the end after a few people cancelled we left for the races. One off my friends came who had never been before so she was dubious but in the end she loved it we both won on 2 race each and no one else in our group won we were grinning from ear to ear then came the most embarrassing bit off the day i got hit on by an old man he must've been about 55 while my mate was getting hit on by a gorgeous bloke in his late 20's she found it so funny and i still don't hear the end off it to this day. However the night got loads better eyeing up a few blokes, drinking cocktails and having a fantastic laugh oh yeah mustn't forget meeting some off the cast from Waterloo Road and a cast member from Eastender. Also the most embarrassing bit my mother announcing to everyone in the pub she was having a screaming orgasm my face went as bright red as it has ever been even under the make up.
I know this is again a brief blog but i don't remember much as i was pretty drunk but the cocktails was lovely and i didn't even fall over apart from nearly walking into a lamp post a few times
